A babbo morto

Flabbergasting, sbalorditivo, lo definisce Felix Salmon, e in effetti il commento che il responsabile amministrativo di Bank of America, Steele Alphin, ha rilasciato al New York Times dopo la notizia che la sua banca, a seguito degli "stress test" sarebbe sotto di 34 miliardi (non 35 come ho scritto stamattina), lascia veramente a bocca aperta ed esterrefatti:

Mr. Alphin noted that the $34 billion figure is well below the $45 billion in capital that the government has already allocated to the bank, although he said the bank has plenty of options to raise the capital on its own…

Mr. Alphin said since the government figure is less than the $45 billion provided to Bank of America, the bank will now start looking at ways of repaying the $11 billion difference over time to the government.

Capito? La cifra di 34 miliardi di dollari è ben al di sotto dei 45 miliardi che il governo ha già prestato alla banca e quindi ora BofA dovrà solo cercare il modo di restituire gli 11 miliardi di differenza che deve al governo!

L'arroganza (e il potere?) di questi lestofanti non ha più limiti. Altro che salvataggi, Tarp, Talf e stress test, è arrivato il momento del forcone!
